Growing up in New Jersey, I had one of those Barbie heads that was attached to my hip.
A total girlie girl from the start.
No one seemed shocked, when after finishing college studying Advertising and Fine Art, I left Baltimore and headed south to the Florida College of Natural Health to become an aesthetician. Initially interested in makeup artistry, I wanted to obtain my aesthetics training as I thought it would give me the necessary knowledge to precede a career in makeup. But then I was hooked. As a girl who never particularly cared for science classes, I was absolutely intrigued by the enormous complexity of the skin. It is the largest organ in our bodies, and yet we, as the general public, know very little about it.
Having an artistic background I have always wanted to take something and make it beautiful, and I get to do that everyday as an aesthetician. Show me a set of untouched eyebrows and I’m thrilled! To work with clients who suffer from chronic acne is an everyday challenge, as there’s never one standard cause. It doesn’t matter if someone is 16, 28 or 44, dealing with acne brings them all to a common place of insecurity and to see someone come out of that is the most fulfilling aspect of my job. |

After spending most of my childhood in Upstate New York, my family moved to Raleigh when I was 12 years old. There is a picture of me at age 4 when I had gotten into a powder puff of my moms and helped myself to two cheekfuls….. And that’s where it all began.
I worked in cosmetics for eight years after attending Louisburg college. I love every aspect of cosmetics, but especially creating a fresh, glowing face. It just seemed natural to take the next step and learn all that I could about the skin. I headed to Boston to attend the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics. My initial goal was to work on the medical side of esthetics and join forces with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. But once I was out of school, I changed my mind and decided that I wanted to work with people on a long term basis. The ongoing relationship you can create with a client is truly how you find success with achieving their goals. And for me, that’s what it’s truly all about.
The most fulfilling aspect of my job is being able to troubleshoot and figure out the root of the problem, rather than just offering a surface solution. Once we find the “culprit”, we can maintain the skin through personalized treatments and appropriate homecare. |

We started at the same dayspa, the same day, a little over 8 years ago.
We’ve worked together ever since and become “soul sisters” in the process.
We maintain three goals for every client we meet.
#1. Provide Results Oriented Treatments.. (no fluff here!)
#2. Offer Sigh-Worthy Relaxation…. (along with a peppermint foot massage!)
#3. Consistent, Personalized Customer Service… (do unto others…..)
We’re often a therapist, an objective opinion, a problem solver or a cheerleader.
The best part of the job is the reception we get every time a client walks through the door and
looks at us like we’re their favorite people at their favorite place.
The only thing better is seeing that smile attached to glowing skin! |
